FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQs:

Q: Why are you not listed on AirBnB or other short-term rental websites?
A: Our property is exclusive and is only rented to people who are friends, family, or referrals. We do this because AirBnB has become too risky for a property like ours (theft, vandalism,  fraud, etc.) therefore we choose to have less business for a better experience.

Q: When is check in?
A: Check in is 3 PM EST unless otherwise discussed.

Q: When is check out?
A: Check out is noon EST unless otherwise discussed.

Q: How many cars can park here?
A: No more than 7 cars can park here.

Q: Do you supply sheets and towels?
A: Yes we do. 2 bedrooms have the capabilities of being configured in either a 2 singles bed scenario, or a king bed scenario. Prior to check in you will need to indicate which one you prefer.

Q: Are you lakefront?
A: Yes, however there are a series of steps from the main house to the lakefront/dock. The dock is on the water.

Q: Is there beach access?
A: A two to three person rowboat is included as an amenity and is tied up at the dock. This can be used for exploring the cove and shoreline, and can also be utilized the access Cairn's Island, which is the island directly opposite the dock. Overnight camping and campfires are not allowed on the island, and access is first come, first serve.

Q: Are you handicap accessible or ADA compliant?
A: We are not handicap accessible or ADA compliant.

Q: Can I bring my boat and use your dock?
A: Yes, as part of the amenities included in the house there is a boat slip.

Q: Do you have a boat for rent?
A: Yes we do, the boat is captained and the rate goes at $250 per hour. Additional accessories are available, such as a water mat, and a seated towable tube. The tube accommodates 2 adults or 3 children under the age of 12. Also available are a single ski and a kneeboard.

Q: Do I need to bring kitchenware?
A: The kitchen is fully stocked with all the basic tools and utensils. However, if you are looking to do something specific like bake, crock pot, instapot or smoke meat, please let us know as we may be able to accommodate these types of activities.

Q: Do you have spices and/or condiments?
A: We provide a basic/intermediate assortment of spices. We also provide large bottles of ketchup, mayonnaise, yellow mustard, and relish.

Q: What appliances do you have? [[LINK ME TO PICTURES]]
A: We have a Keurig coffee maker on the top floor, in the main floor's kitchen, and in the basement kitchen. We also have a Gourmia toaster oven, a small espresso machine, a blender, a hand mixer,  a microwave, 2 full-sized refrigerators, 3 full-sized ovens, 1 small beverage refrigerator (wine cooler), 1 electric stovetop, and 1 gas cooktop in the main floor's kitchen. We have a propane Kitchenaid barbeque on the main deck that also has a panini/grill, and 2 cooking burners. We also have a Traeger Woodpellet Silverton.

Q: What do we do with garbage?
A: Nothing, we will take care of it after you have checked out.

Q: Do I need to clean the house when I am done?
A: No, we will clean the house after you have checked out.

Q: Is there a laundry?
A: Yes, laundry is available to guests on the main floor. Laundry detergent is provided, please do not use dryer sheets in the dryer (they reduce dryer efficiency).

Q: Is there free WiFi?
A: Yes, the password is WelcomeHome675. The password is also displayed on the whiteboard in the kitchen.

Q: How many people will it sleep?
A: Top floor accommodates 4 (2 singles, 1 king), bedroom floor accommodates 8 (variable), basement floor accommodates 4 (2 singles, 1 king). Additional air mattresses may be provided for a fee of $25 per person. No additional guests can stay at the property without permission.

Q: What if there is an issue with anything?
A: 

Q: Is it pet-friendly?
A: Yes. One to two well behaved dogs are allowed. If you have more than two dogs beyond that, there is an additional $250 charge per dog. If your dog has any mishaps or accidents, there may be an additional cleaning fee. There is a space on the side of the house that is dirt and grassy that can accommodate your dogs need to urinate and defecate.

Q: Do you have a speaker system?
A: Yes, we have 2 speakers on the lower level, 1 speaker on the deck at the entrance of the house, and 1 speaker in the enclosed patio area deck. They are Sonos speakers and you can access them with your phone if you download the app. We also have Sonos speakers inside the house.
